Record numbers expected to attend NZSTA conference
The NZSTA annual national conference is on track to be sold out again this year, with registrations tracking ahead of last year’s record numbers.
The conference has consistently attracted over 800 registrations in recent years. Online registrations, which closed last Friday, saw 896 people registered.
For the past two years attendance has been restricted to NZSTA member boards and additional breakout spaces have been found in an attempt to ensure sufficient places so that those wanting to attend are able to do so. Even so there was a waiting list for last year’s conference and it was expected to be the case again this year.
NZSTA conferences are focused on professional development with 56 workshop sessions offered this year over the two and a half days as well as three keynote addresses and an address from the Minister of Education, Hekia Parata.
The sponsors’ area, which features a range of trade stands, provides further opportunities for trustees to discuss their school’s needs with exhibitors and is another popular feature.
