Free student passes to international food conference on offer

High school teachers who attend the International Food Design Conference & Studio in Dunedin have the opportunity to take a student at no cost.

The Hospitality Training Trust is funding up to 15 places for secondary students studying hospitality to attend the conference, June 29-July 1, at no cost when their teachers attend the full conference.

Otago Polytechnic’s Food Design Institute is hosting three days of lectures, presentations and workshops exploring how the Human Touch influences our food.

Keynote speakers include legendary New Zealand chef, restaurateur, cookbook author and TV presenter Al Brown; internationally-recognised designer Marije Vogelzang from the Netherlands, and chef Michael Elegbede of Nigeria. They will be joined by New Zealand and international guests including; Giulio Sturla from Roots, Cuisine’s 2015 Restaurant of the Year; My Kitchen Rules runner-up Aaron Freeman and Kane Bambury from Amisfield.

To take advantage of this special offer, teachers must purchase a three-day pass to the conference. Once they have confirmed their attendance all they need to do is email the conference organisers to confirm a complimentary student pass.
