Bringing international students back to NZ – global webinar

Next week, a New Zealand-focused global webinar will discuss the need and strategy to bring international students back to Aotearoa following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hosted by ISANA NZ (International Education Association Inc), the Thursday 21 April event will be streamed as part of a multi-country series ‘designed to bring the world together aim to fast track, enhance and simplify the return of international student mobility and to strengthen and grow all related businesses’.
Speakers include Dr Keith Suter, futurist and foreign affairs specialist consultant, who will be identifying ‘The opportunities and issues in New Zealand and predict likely future outcomes. University of Otago director Jason Cushen will be outlining, ‘Local Insights from the Sector for the Rebuild and Reset of International Education’.

Professor Colleen Ward will present, ‘Enhancing the International Student Experience Post COVID’. Ward is Professor of Cross-cultural Psychology and Founding Director of the Centre for Applied Cross-cultural Research at Victoria University of Wellington. 

ISANA NZ is a national association ‘committed to promoting professional pathways, sector-specific credentials and innovative practice to serve the export education sector’.  ISANA NZ Executive Officer Chris Beard said, “Collaboration globally and locally is the key to sector recovery and ISANA NZ wish to assist with this as much as possible. Pitched as part of, ‘an opportunity to join a Global Student Mobility Initiative (GSMI) which is designed to create innovative solutions to help fast track the world-wide recovery of student mobility’, the 90-minute webinar will be live online at 9.30am on Thursday 21 April and will be available to playback on demand.
