Creating Trauma-Responsive Schools Across Aotearoa

In today’s educational landscape, educators often grapple with the profound impact of complex developmental trauma on tamariki and rangatahi. This has created a pressing need for effective understanding and support strategies. At Immerse, we recognise the urgency of adopting a trauma-informed approach to teaching, that is critical for navigating the unique challenges presented by individual tamariki.

Our innovative, ‘Creating Trauma-Responsive Schools’ training, is designed to empower educators with the tools they need to comprehend and respond effectively to the behavioural nuances resulting from trauma. Grounded in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) and trauma-informed research, this programme equips educators with practical strategies tailored to nurture a conducive learning environment.

Educator Training

A calm brain is the only brain in an optimal state for learning. Through our educator training, participants delve into the evidence-based practices of Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI®) and other leading trauma researchers, unlocking a profound understanding of how complex developmental trauma impacts the neurology and physiology of tamariki and rangatahi in the classroom. Armed with this knowledge, educators gain access to a comprehensive toolbox of strategies aimed at fostering regulation, increasing engagement, and achieving academic success.
